Cornhusker Power Board Elects Officers
Officers were elected for a one-year term at the Cornhusker Power Board meeting on January 21. Bill Robinson, Cedar Rapids, was elected president. He was appointed to the Board on August 16, 1999. His term expires in 2010. Robinson represents customers in Subdivision One that includes Cedar and Dublin Townships in Boone County, all of Spalding Township, a portion of Leo Valley Township in Greeley County, and a portion of Bartlett and Beaver Townships in Wheeler County. He has farm ground near Cedar Rapids and manages a commercial feed yard. He is a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids and Knights of Columbus. He and his wife, Rita, have two children—Ryan, 19-years-old and Erica, nine-years-old
Ray Merrell, St. Edward, was elected vice-president. He has served on the Board since January 1,1985. Ray is a retired farmer. He represents customers in Subdivision Three that includes Boone, Southeast Manchester and Southwest Manchester townships, all in Boone County and Woodville Township in Platte County.
Glen Pfeifer, Lindsay, was elected secretary. He has over 20 years of service on the Board. Pfeifer represents customers in Subdivision Five. He and his wife farm west of Lindsay and raise 100 sows in a farrow to finish hog operation. Their crop consists mainly of corn and soybeans. He represents customers in Walker, Saint Bernard, Granville, Humphrey, Creston and Joliet townships all in Platte County, excluding the villages of Cornlea, Humphrey, Lindsay, Newman Grove and Creston.
Robert (Butch) L. Gray was elected treasurer. He was selected for the Board in April 2004. He is employed with Gray’s Trucks and Farm Inc. He and his family own a small trucking business. He also raises row crops and has a cow/calf operation. He represents Cornhusker customers in Subdivision Two, which includes North Branch, Shell Creek, Oakland Manchester and Bonanza townships in Boone County.
