Cornhusker Power Customers Give $4,066 to Help Their Communities
Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund trustees awarded $4,066 to 18 organizations at the November 2 meeting.
Cornhusker Power General Manager Ron Hostetter said, “Since the program’s inception in 1999, $199,301.45 has been distributed to many worthwhile projects. We encourage customers to round up their electric bill to help their community.”
- In Albion, Boone County Historical Society received $200 for archival storage boxes.
- In Clarkson, Clarkson Public Library received $200 for a projector; Clarkson Rescue Squad, $300 for a pediatric backboard and medical bag.
- In Columbus, Big Pals-Little Pals received $200 for pizza and pop, Christ Lutheran School, $300 for computers and software; Columbus Community Hospital, $300 for diabetes DVDs, Kansas-Nebraska Chautauqua, $200 for tent and other items, Kids of the Kingdom Daycare/Preschool, $200 for portable sinks, Lakeview Baseball/Softball Association, $200 for toddler changing tables in restrooms, Lakeview High School – Principles of Technology, $300 for supplies for Power Drive car, Lakeview Post Prom, $50 for food and drinks, St. Luke’s Rainbow Preschool, $200 for a digital camera.
- In Genoa, Genoa Chamber, $200 for swimming pool repairs.
- In Howells, Howells Public Library, $200 for metal shelves.
- In Humphrey, Humphrey Public Schools, $216 for newspaper subscriptions.
- In Leigh, Club 91 Golf Course/CCHL Foundation, $200 for an air conditioning unit
- In Lindsay, Holy Family Elementary School, $300 for Mind Challenging Activities
- In Spalding, Spalding Academy School, $300 for vacuum cleaners and bags.
Next applications are due January 22, 2010.
