Cornhusker Power Customers Give $3,450 to Help Their Communities
Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund trustees awarded $3,450 to 18 organizations at the November 7 meeting.
Cornhusker Power General Manager Clay Gibbs said, “Since the program’s inception in 1999, $227,668.54 has been distributed to a variety of organizations. These organizations are doing great things in the community and we are very proud to be a part of it. Please consider rounding up your electric bill and join us in making a difference in your community.”
- In Albion, Boone County Area Foundation received $200 for frames for historical pictures.
- In Clarkson, Clarkson Fire/Rescue received $300 for rescue ropes; and Clarkson High School Post Prom received $50 for building rental.
- In Columbus, Big Pals-Little Pals received $200 for a their annual Christmas Party; Christ Lutheran School received $200 for an electronic card catalogue system; Columbus Area Recreational Trails, $200 for a map kiosk; Lakeview Power Drive, $200 for batteries; Platte County Crime Stoppers, Inc., $200 for rewards; Platte County Historical Society, $200 for software; and St. Luke’s Rainbow Preschool, $100 for swings.
- In Genoa, Genoa Medical Facilities received $300 for a hospice program.
- In Howells, Howells Historical Society received $200 for paint; and Sons of the American Legion Post #155 received $200 for a marching flag.
- In Newman Grove, Newman Grove Public Schools received $200 for playground equipment.
- In Palmer, Palmer Public School Library received $200 for digital cameras.
- In Spalding, CNCS Spalding Head Start received $100 for low rider tricycles; and St. Michael’s School, $200 for playground gravel and basketball hoops.
- In Tarnov, Michael House received $200 for a refrigerator.
