Electric Heat Discount Rate

You will receive a special discounted electric rate on all usage on the meter when you install 100 percent electric heat and electric water heating. Ask for a print-out of your electricity usage for the past year. Customers who have both electric heating and water heating on all homes on the meter receive an electric heat rate discount.

On a single-phase service, all usage between 1501 and 4000 kilowatt hours is only 4.1¢ instead of 6.45¢ per kilowatt hour from October to May. On a three-phase service, all usage between 1901 kilowatt hours and 5000 kilowatt hours is only 4.0¢ instead of 7.2¢ per kilowatt hour between October and May. By converting to electric heat, you qualify for this discount and save. If you are a large electric user for grain drying, milking or other needs, the savings can be especially large.
