What is the Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund?
The Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund is the money that is collected from
nearly 67% of Cornhusker Power customers who voluntarily agree to have
their electric bill rounded up to the next highest dollar.
The Fund is administered by an independent Board of Trustees who represent
Cornhusker Public Power District customers. The Trustees evaluate all
requests for funds and decide how they will be distributed. The thousands
of dollars are used to address community needs such as life saving equipment,
playground improvements, library equipment, computer software for schools,
but they are not limited to these categories.
Who is eligible for funds?
Funding from Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund is available to organizations
within the counties served by Cornhusker Power—Platte, Boone, Nance,
Colfax, Greeley and Wheeler. The recipient does not have to be a customer
of Cornhusker Power. Organizations may apply once a year. Funds shall
not be used for religious or political purposes. Submit the application
to Cornhusker Public Power District.
When do the Trustees meet?
The Trustees meet quarterly. Applications must be submitted one week
before the Trustee meeting. Please call (402) 564-2821 or 1-800-955-2773
for the next meeting date.
